Criminal charges were filed Tuesday in a pre-Thanksgiving crash that claimed the life of Loris resident Marva Edge, Loris Police Department Interim Chief Lt. Karen Shepherd said.

A two-car crash that claimed the life of a Loris woman and sent two other people to the hospital Tuesday night remained under investigation at mid-day Wednesday, Loris Police Department Interim Chief Karen Shepherd said.
Marva Edge, 53, died while being taken to the hospital following the 9:45 p.m. crash on Church Street in Loris, Horry County Deputy Coroner Tony Hendrick said.
Troopers from the South Carolina Highway Patrol’s Accident Reconstruction Team are assisting the LPD to determine just what happened, Shepherd said.
Edge was alone in her car, with both occupants of the other vehicle apparently suffering serious injuries, Shepherd said. They were transferred to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, a regional trauma center.
