Another crash in Iron Hill

Five more people were hurt in an auto crash Monday at a Tabor City area crossroads that has claimed lives in the past.

Neighbors, including witnesses to the two-vehicle crash that took place before noon Monday said a northbound car on Peacock Road did not appear to slow for the stop sign at Will Inman Road, colliding nearly head-on with an eastbound vehicle.

Williams Township firefighters folded a sheet they had used to shield one patient from debris blown by an AirLink helicopter just moments after touchdown. That patient was apparently flown to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

Four other people were taken by Tabor City Emergency Services ambulances to McLeod Loris hospital. None of the injuries appeared to be life threatening.
