Friday night football
Friday night football, played on schedule, was a galloping success for the Stallions of South Columbus on the road at Loris, while Green Sea Floyds fell short at Aynor.
Forecasts for bad weather tonight caused both games to be re-scheduled for Thursday night. Mother Nature re-set those plans, with serious thunderstorms forcing cancellation of Thursdays games, good weather tonight.
South Columbus claimed an 8-point victory with a 20-12 win over Loris, the Stallions off to a 2-0 record on the season so far, 1-2.
Aynor claimed a 10-point win over the visiting Trojans, the final score 6-16 for the home team.
South Columbus will be on the road at Red Springs next Friday, while Loris travels to Green Sea Floyds. Kickoff for both games is 7:30 p.m.

Thursday update
A line of strong thunderstorms has disrupted efforts to get ahead of the weather, ending Thursday’s planned South Columbus at Loris border classic.
Another effort at getting the game played will be made Friday, kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Green Sea Floyds at Aynor never got started, either. Officials were hoping to get that game started at 8:30 p.m., but cancelled the game just before that time, with hopes of getting the game in Friday.
