A knock at the door followed by six masked, armed men coming through the door was followed by a single gunshot injuring a Loris area resident Tuesday evening, an Horry County Police Department report says.

Several people were in the home on Buena Vista Drive, south of Loris, when the knock came and a woman answered the door, the report by Officer Jack Smith said.

Six black men “wearing ski masks came in to the home with guns,” the report said. Each of the victims told police they were told to get on the floor, then heard a gunshot just before all of the masked men left.

None of the victims could say if they saw or heard a vehicle, how the men got away, or provide more detailed physical descriptions, the report said.

The victim, a 23-year-old man who was in the home, was taken to a hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound, HCPD spokeswoman Krystal Dotson said.
