District court rescheduled following power outage

     Power outages caused by a storm front that moved through the region Monday night forced cancellation of all District Court Sessions at the Columbus County Courthouse in Whiteville Tuesday, Clerk of Court Jess Hill said.

     Chief District Court Judge Scott Ussery signed the order cancelling court, and rescheduling cases, Hill said.

     Under that order:

  • All traffic cases scheduled for October 24, 2017 shall be rescheduled to January 9, 2018.
  • All 50b cases scheduled for October 24, 2017 shall be rescheduled to November 2, 2017.
  • All Civil General cases scheduled on October 24, 2017 shall be rescheduled to November 14, 2017.
  • All Child Support show causes cases scheduled on October 24, 2017 shall be rescheduled to November 13, 2017.
  • All Child Support non-show cause cases scheduled on October 24, 2017 shall be rescheduled to December 6, 2017.
