Million dollar trucks
Federal Assistance to Firefighter grants totaling more than $1 million have provided for two new 3,000 gallon tanker trucks for the Tabor City Fire Department and a pumper for the Loris Fire Department, with the new Rosenbauer trucks arriving early in this new year.
Replacing two substandard tankers, the new Tabor City trucks have been used on four structure fires in Horry County since being placed into service Monday.

Fire Chiefs Jerry Hodges of Tabor City, left, and Jerry Hardee of Loris talk trucks outside the Loris Public Safety Building.
Work on equipping the new Loris truck is ongoing.
Area news outlets were invited to the Loris Public Safety Building Wednesday to get a look at the new trucks.
For more on the trucks see today’s Tabor-Loris Tribune in print and online.
