Pastor Rusty Davis issued a challenge to the congregation at Cherry Grove Baptist Church as nearly 300 people gathered to dedicate a new sanctuary Sunday.

Reading from Acts 2:42, “And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers,” Pastor Davis issued a four-point challenge to the congregation, and invited guests without a church home to consider Cherry Grove.

Key points in the pastor’s challenge were:

  • We will be a church that is committed to teaching and receiving the rightly divided word of truth
  • We will be a church that is committed to each other.
  • We will be a church that is committed to being obedient to the word of God.
  • We will be a church that is committed to prayer.

“Would you commit to doing these things,” Pastor Davis said.

More on this story, and more photos will be found in the next Tabor-Loris Tribune in print and online.

A meal in the church Fellowship Center followed Sunday’s Cherry Grove Baptist service.
