A locked door at the United Community Bank in Green Sea stopped an apparent armed robbery attempt in its tracks Wednesday, Capt. John Harrelson of the Horry County Police Department said.

Two men armed with long guns arrived at the bank branch at 5264 Hwy. 9, attempted to enter the bank, but found the door locked, Harrelson asid.

The license plate on the car, shown here, was an older South Carolina tag with an “In God We Trust” inscription, the vehicle last seen headed in the direction of Loris on SC 9.
