Gunfire into Williams home

     Another area report of shooting into an occupied dwelling, this time on US 701 in the Williams Township area.

     William Blain Stutts, 44 and Tara Michelle Fowler, 37, were victims of the shooting which took place north of Williams Township School, a report by Deputy Patrick Herring said.

     Deputies responded about 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, and were told that someone unknown fired shots at the home, a bullet or bullets striking a window, sheriff’s spokeswoman Michelle Tatum said.

     Deputies have no additional information, Tatum said. There have been multiple similar reports in southern Columbus County in recent weeks, with one arrest in one case to date.
