Stallions game at Whiteville moved to Saturday

One of this season’s most anticipated varsity high school football games has been pushed back a day, South Columbus at Whiteville now set for Saturday.

     Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

Threatening weather prompted the move, Whiteville officials said. Forecasts call for plenty of rain with the possibility of thunderstorms this evenings.

Games this week and next will set the stage for the state playoffs, with South Columbus currently the only undefeated team in the conference.

Both Whiteville and East Bladen have one loss on their 2018 record, Whiteville to East Bladen, and East Bladen in a non-conference loss in its opening game of the season to Clinton.

South Columbus is set to play East Bladen next Friday, that game cancelled on Sept. 14 due to Hurricane Florence.
