Eloise G. Cox: Loris
1933 – 2019
Eloise G. Cox of Loris passed away Wednesday, April 24. She was 85.
Mrs. Cox was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late Van and Ruth Goodyear. She worked for over 45 years in banking with Farmers Bank which later became NBSC.
Mrs. Cox was a long-time member of Loris First Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and mother figure and mentor to her family and community.
Mrs. Cox was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Henry Grady “H. G.” Cox, and two sisters, Bernice Grainger and Evelyn Newsome.
Surviving Mrs. Cox are her son, Henry Keith Cox (Sherryl) of Latta; her daughter, Lisa Kay Cox of Loris; two grandchildren, Logan Cox (Savannah) of Loris, and Kerry Lee Ivey (Matthew) of Dillon; a special friend who she loved like a sister, Seletha Long of Loris; and many special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Friday, April 26, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel with Dr. Louis Venable officiating, burial following in Carter Cemetery.
Visitation was planned from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
