An elderly woman and male teen were hurt in an afternoon wreck on Swampfox Hwy East at Peacock Road Saturday.

Injuries did not appear to be life threatening, firefighters on the scene said, with both patients taken to McLeod Loris hospital in the same Tabor City Emergency Services ambulance after evaluation and initial treatment in the truck.

Witnesses said the truck pulled across Swampfox Hwy from Peacock Road and was hit broadside on the passenger side by the Lincoln car, the truck rolling before coming to rest on its wheels.

An investigation was underway by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
