Frances Vereen Thompkins: Tabor City
1946 – 2019
Frances Vereen Thompkins of Tabor City died Thursday, Aug. 1, in McLeod Loris Hospital. She was 72.
Born Sept. 16, 1946 in Conway she was the daughter of the late Donnie and Magaline Rabon Vereen.
She is survived by her husband, Eston Thompkins of the home; three sons, Pete Smith of Concord, Jeff Woody and wife Teresa of High Point, and Kevin “Dabber” Thompkins and wife Miranda of Tabor City; three daughters, Diane Cannon and husband Lanny of Conway, Terry Woody of Tabor City, Bonnie Guyton and husband Jeff of Bladenboro; a sister, Peggy Suggs of Tabor City; two brothers, Kelly “Buddy” Vereen of Tabor City and Leonard Gilliland of Conway; 20 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Sarvis; a grandson, Derek Bass; two sisters, Mary Ann Hardee and Grace Vereen.
Graveside services were planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, in Mitchell Soles Cemetery, Tabor City.
Visitation was planned for the hour preceding the service at Mitchell Soles Cemetery.
