Michael David Grainger: Loris

1969 – 2019

     Michael David Grainger of Loris gained his heavenly wings on Tuesday, Aug. 27, surrounded by his loving family. He was 49.

     He is finally at peace and pain free.

     Michael was born Nov. 7, 1969 in Charleston, to Lynda Gerald Grainger and the late Ronald Michael Grainger. He was a member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church.

     Michael was an avid Gamecock Fan who loved to fish, hunt, and golf and loved most any sport, especially NASCAR Racing and college basketball. He had an affinity for the elderly and particularly the residents of Myrtle Beach Manor where he worked.

     Survivors include his daughter, Jadyn Amber Grainger of Loris; his partner, Brenda Willis of Galivants Ferry; his other mother, Helen Grainger Thompson and husband, Joe of Galivants Ferry; his brother, Ron Grainger and wife, Leslie of Aynor; his two sisters, Susie Shannon and husband, Tom of Elgin, and Michelle Thompkins and husband, Johnny of Galivants Ferry; his daughter’s mother, Kim Tyree Grainger and mother-in-law, Jo Tyree both of Loris; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and very close friends that will forever miss him.

     In addition to his father, Mr. Grainger was predeceased by his infant daughter, Jolie Lynda Grainger; his grandparents, Lonnie and Pauline Gerald, Edna Byrd, Witt and Ida Skipper; and father-in-law, Mickey Tyree.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 at Hardwick Funeral Home.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m.  Saturday, Aug. 31, at Cherry Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Renshaw and Rev. John Holmes officiating, committal services following at Cherry Hill Cemetery.
