Maeve Long Duncan: Tabor City
1930 – 2019
Maeve Long Duncan of Tabor City died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019 in the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter, Bolivia. She was 89.
Born Jan. 13, 1930 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Major McKenzie and Maggie Mae Clark Long.
She is survived by her husband, Pete Duncan of the home; three sons, Alan Duncan, John Duncan, and Greg Duncan, all of Tabor City; a sister, Evelyn Jones of Whiteville; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers. Ernest Long, Orby Long, Major Long, Wade Long and David Long; and a granddaughter.
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, in Inman Ward Funeral Home.
Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, burial following in Duncan Cemetery, Tabor City.
