Billy B. Buffkin: Tabor City

1941 – 2019

     Billy B. Buffkin of Tabor City died Sunday, Sept. 1 in Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter, Whiteville. He was 78.

     Born in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Clayton Roy Buffkin and Hazel Norris Buffkin.

     He is survived by five daughters, Theresa Faircloth of Chadbourn, Betty Brown of Zephyrhills, Florida, Linda Oyer of Daytona Beach, Florida, Lisa Dreggors and Hazel Winder of Port Orange, Florida; two sons, Billy Buffkin of Surgoinsville, Tennesse and Dennis Bottorff of Daytona Beach, Florida; seven brothers, Donnie Buffkin, Danny Russell “Tadpole” Buffkin, Mike Buffkin, Larry Buffkin, Miles Buffkin, Glenn Buffkin, Elvis “Eddie” Buffkin; three sisters, Barbara “Bobbie”Nobles, Patsy Carroll, Kathy Lynn Bozzo; 17 grandchildren: 31 great-grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, four brothers and two sisters.

     In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center 206 Warrior Trail Rd. Whiteville, NC 28472

     Graveside services were planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, in Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City.
