Esther Daphene Suggs: Tabor City

1937 – 2019

     Esther Daphene Suggs of Tabor City died Sunday, Sept. 1, in Tabor Commons. She was 82.

     Born Feb. 12, 1937 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Jason and Cleo Clubb Suggs.

     Her sister Margie Suggs Candler also predeceased her.

     Miss Suggs was a dedicated school teacher for 37 years and was a lifetime member of Old Zion Wesleyan Church.

     She is survived by her sister, Clara S. Etheridge of Matlacha, Florida; and many nephews and nieces.

     Visitation will be held at Old Zion Wesleyan Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, with funeral services following at 3 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Zion Wesleyan Women International or Old Zion Children’s Ministries, Old Zion Wesleyan Church, 10144 Swamp Fox Highway East, Tabor City, NC 28463.
