James Quincey Graham, Jr.: Loris

1923 – 2019

     James Quincey Graham, Jr. passed away on Friday, Oct. 25, at his home in Loris. He was 96.

     Mr. Graham was born on Sept. 5, 1923 in Loris to the late James Quincey Graham, Sr., and the late Janie Dockery Morisey Graham.

     Mr. Graham served his country with courage, honor, and distinction in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. He continued his service to our great nation for the next 24 years in the National Guard, retiring in 1983.

     Mr. Graham was an active lifelong member of Loris First United Methodist Church.

     Survivors include his wife, Vivian Anderson Graham of the home; son, Rev. David Covington Graham and wife, Marian of Loris; step-son, Greg Moreland and wife, Cheryl of Conway; step-daughter, Rhonda Crist of Rock Hill; brother, Maurice Bryan “Pop” Graham and wife, Laverne of Loris; sister, Joan G. Taylor of Sunset Beach; and many loving step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

     Mr. Graham was predeceased by his son, James “Sonny” Quincey Graham, III and his sister, Marian Graham Garrell.

     A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Loris First United Methodist Church with Pastor Bruce Adams officiating.

     Committal services with military honors followed at Patterson Cemetery.
