Samuel Jackson Gore: Clarendon

1932 – 2019

     Samuel Jackson Gore of Clarendon died Tuesday, Dec. 10, in Transitions Life Care Center, Raleigh.  He was 87.

     He was the son of the late Samuel Pink Gore and Gracie Lee Long Gore and the widower of Marjorie Ward Gore.

     He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

     He is survived by one daughter, Dr. Rebecca A. Gore of Raleigh; and one grandson, Samuel Gore Wilson.

     In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Gore Wilson; one brother, Joe Gore; two sisters, Bobbie Stephens and Carol Stanley.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, in Bethel United Methodist Church, 2733 MM Ray Road, Clarendon, burial following in Bethel Memorial Cemetery, Clarendon.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding the service in the church.
