Waldo Buddy Cooper: Loris

1929 – 2019

     Waldo Buddy Cooper of Loris passed away on Thursday, Dec. 26, at Compass Rehabilitation Facility in Conway. He was 90.

     Mr. Cooper was born on Nov. 2, 1929 in Tabor City to the late Henry Cooper and the late Eula Buffkin Cooper.

     Mr. Cooper served our country with honor, courage, and dignity for six years as a Paratrooper in the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Cooper was of the Christian faith.

     Survivors include his four sons, Ronald Cooper of Loris, Dexter Cooper of Columbia, Tommy Cooper of Maggie Valley, and Adam Cooper of Loris; one grandchild, Alex Cooper of Maggie Valley; two great-grandchildren, Keira Elise Cooper and Kyren Rayden Cooper both of Aynor; Sabrina Young of Aynor, who was like a daughter to Mr. Cooper; and a niece, Wanda Cox of Tabor City.

     Mr. Cooper was predeceased by his wife, Elise Jackson Cooper; brother, James Cooper; and three sisters, Beatrice Nelson, Willadean Howes, and Louis Buffkin.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mack Hutson officiating, committal services following at Red Hill Memorial Gardens.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding the service at the funeral home.
