Joseph M. Peavy: Loris

1948 – 2020

     Joseph M. Peavy of Loris passed away Thursday, Jan. 9 at the VA Medical Center in Charleston. He was 71.

     Joe was born Nov. 1, 1948, a son of the late L.B. and Vera Christmas Peavy.

     He served in the United States Army for 8 years and was a member of Cane Branch Baptist Church where he served for many years.

     He was predeceased by two brothers, Rev. Larry Peavy and Kent Christmas.

     Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Nadine Peavy of Loris, one step-son, Rev. Tyler Caines of Loris; two grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews, and one sister, Carlene Lawson of Aynor.

     Visitation was planned from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12 at Cane Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Jon Johnson and Rev. Tyler Caines officiating, committal services, with Military Honors, following in the Cane Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
