CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story included the incorrect name of the deceased victim in Thursday’s evening auto crash near Loris.      A pre-school girl from the Loris area died in a two-vehicle crash southeast of the city Thursday afternoon.

Several others were hurt, some seriously, in the 5:25 p.m. crash on Hwy 66 at Doyce Drive, Cpl. Sonny Collons of the South Carolina Highway Patrol said. Horry County Fire Rescue reported at least three people with “very serious injuries.”

Allura Rose Blacknell, age 3, died in the crash, Horry County Deputy Coroner Patty Bellamy said.

Blacknell was a passenger in a Hyundai, which was travelling east on Hwy 66 when it crossed the center line, crashing head-on with a Nissan Quest, Collins said.

A Highway Patrol investigation into the crash is ongoing, Collins said.
