Cora Rueline Wingate Orren Lewis: Longs

1932 – 2020

     Cora Rueline Wingate Orren Lewis of the Longs area passed away unexpectedly at McLeod Loris hospital Saturday, Jan. 18. She was 87.

     Born May 3, 1932, she was preceded in death by her parents David and Blanche Wingate; two spouses; her siblings; and one of her sons, Phillip Orren Sr.

     Her hobbies included musical interests, she played the piano and organ over 83 years of her lifespan. She attended Park Street United Methodist Church in Belmont, until she relocated to Longs, where she joined Seaside United Methodist in Sunset Beach.

     She is survived by six children, Kathy Orren Scalise (Jack (d)), William Orren Sr, Timothy Orren (Joyce), Silva Orren Wiggins (Olin), Sarah Orren Griffith (Robert (d)), Kyle Orren (Sandra); 30 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; multiple nieces and nephews.

     A memorial service was planned for noon Monday, Jan. 27, at Seaside United Methodist Church, 1300 Seaside Drive in Sunset Beach.

     Family planned to receive friends following the service.
