Sammie A. Altman: Nichols

1932 – 2020

     Sammie A. Altman of Nichols passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 21, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence surrounded by her family. She was 87.

     Mrs. Altman was born in Brittons Neck, a daughter of the late Johnnie and Rachel Altman and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.

     She was predeceased by her husband James Altman and two brothers, T.D. Altman and Marshall Altman.

     Survivors include two sons, Johnny B. Shelley and William R. Shelley, both of Nichols; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Phil Altman of Conway and Boyd Altman of Walterboro; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

     Family planned to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Conrad officiating, committal services following in the church cemetery.
