Lucille Causey Waine: Loris

1932 – 2020

     Lucille Causey Waine if Loris passed away on Friday, Feb. 7. She was 87.

     Mrs. Waine was born June 22, 1932 in Loris to the late Needham Kelly Causey, also known as Needham Oliver Crosby, and the late Mary Eliza Todd Causey.

     Mrs. Waine was a homemaker and small business owner. She was an avid gardener with a passion for nature and was known for the beautiful flowers she wore in her hair.

     Mrs. Waine was an active and beloved member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Myrtle Beach, and Loris, where she enjoyed attending prayer breakfasts. She loved the Lord immensely and her disposition of “the glass is always half full and more” reflected her deep faith.

     Mrs. Waine was deeply interested and directly involved in her community, voting, and attended city council meetings every chance she could. She was the treasurer for the Elks Lodge, a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge in Oregon, a Loris Chamber of Commerce member, and a small business owner in Loris for many years.

     Survivors include her fiancé, Dr. Bernard Marsh of Maryland; daughter, Brenda Lee Carothers of Oregon; her son, Michael Curtis Carothers of Montana; two grandchildren, Christina “Chrisy” Lee Sagen Norton and Dylan Carothers; four great-grandchildren, Jesse Sagen, Justin Sagen, Joey Norton, and Johnny Norton; two brothers, Needham Oliver Crosby, Jr. of Darlington, SC, and Franklin Crosby of Conway, SC and her two sisters, Edna Mae Blue of Portland, Oregon and Judy Crosby Marlowe.

     Mrs. Waine was predeceased by her husband, Patrick Albert Waine; her three brothers, John Perry Causey, Charles Crosby and Needham Wilbur Causey and her two sisters, Thelma Jean Shultz and Bonnie Sue Polletta.

     Memorial services were planned for 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Myrtle Beach Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 2351 Carolina Forest Boulevard, Myrtle Beach.
