Clara Belle Spivey Hardee: Loris

1938 – 2020

     Clara Belle Spivey Hardee of Loris passed away on Saturday, Feb. 8, at her home.  She was 81.

     Mrs. Hardee was born on Oct. 4, 1938 in Loris, to the late Stanley Ceymore Spivey and the late Edna Mae Cartrette Spivey.

     Mrs. Hardee retired from the Horry County School System and was a longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She loved her Church dearly, was known for helping others, and for her passion for cooking. Clara Belle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.

     Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Elbert Woodrow Hardee of the home; two sons, Jimmy Hardee of Loris, and Roger Hardee and wife, Kelly of Conway; one daughter, Regina Renteria Hardee of Loris; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and her three sisters, Sylvia Grainger, Corine Bridges and husband, Bill and Judy Ford and husband, Dan all of Loris.

     The Hardee family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Mrs. Sam Simmons for her tremendous care and overwhelming kindness during this difficult time.

     In addition to her parents, Clara Belle was predeceased by her son, Glenn Hardee and her three brothers, Bud Spivey, Eugene “Teen” Spivey and Donald Spivey.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at Hardwick Funeral Home.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Macedonia Baptist Church with Pastor Ragsdale Allsbrook and Elder Ernest Duncan officiating.
