Carmine Nicholas Botti: Myrtle Beach

1930 – 2020

     Carmine “Buddy” Nicholas Botti of Myrtle Beach passed away on Friday, Feb. 14, at Portside Assisted Living at Grand Dunes in Myrtle Beach, surrounded by his loving family. He was 89.

     Mr. Botti was born on April 5, 1930 in Bellmore, New York, to the late Nicholas Botti and the late Marie Campanella Botti.

     A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Botti retired from Grumman Aerospace as a group leader where he worked on the Lunar Excursion Module contributing to the Race for the Moon Project. Mr. Botti enjoyed crabbing and clamming on the Great South Bay in Long Island, New York, loved playing cards in his spare time, and was of the Catholic faith.

     Survivors include his son, Douglas Botti and wife, Doretta of Loris; three daughters, Patricia Padich of Myrtle Beach, Janet Fain and husband, Glenn of Spring Hill, Tennessee, and Nancy Rollino of Conway; 15 grandchildren; an older sister, Nancy Rupolo of Long Island, New York and twin sister, Camille Dunstan of Spring Hill, Florida.

     Mr. Botti was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Marlene “Honey” Botti and his daughter, Barbara Wagner.

     Memorial services will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida and will be announced at a later date.
