Loris man shot, killed near CC line

     A shooting in rural Horry County near the Columbus County border early Wednesday claimed a Loris area man, Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden confirmed late Wednesday night.

     Cory Long, 36, died at McLeod Loris Hospital, where he was taken following the shooting off of Wright Road, east of Tabor City, before 2 a.m. Wednesday.

     An autopsy confirmed that Long died of a gunshot wound.

     Horry County Police Department is investigating the death, and has not released any details of the incident.
