Shelby Jean Bryan: Whiteville

1939 – 2020

     Shelby Jean Bryan of Whiteville died Saturday, April 25, in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCareCenter of Whiteville. She was 80.

     Born in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Carson Jernigan and Dulah Mae Hardee Jernigan.

     She was the widow of Kent Bryan.

     She is survived by one daughter, Christy B. Ward (Woody) of Tabor City, one granddaughter, Chloe Ward of Tabor City, special family friend, Tammie Browning of Whiteville.

     In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by eight brothers, Johnnie Jernigan, Jimmie Jernigan, Don Jernigan, Alfred Jernigan, Roy Knox Jernigan, James Carson Jernigan, Vernon Jernigan and Jackie Jernigan; three sisters, Edna Cribb, Ila Pearl Norris, Barbara Ann Jernigan.

     Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic and limited attendance executive order by the Governor the graveside service will be private in the Myrtle Green Cemetery in Tabor City.
