Vera Smith Leigh: Loris

1930 – 2020

     Vera Smith Leigh of Loris passed away on Friday, June 5, at Loris Rehab and Nursing Center. She was 89.

     Mrs. Leigh was born on Aug. 17, 1930 in Loris to the late Jessie Burroughs Smith and the late Mary Smith. Mrs. Leigh worked with Guy’s Jewelry Store and was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church.

     Survivors include her son, William Larry Leigh of Leland; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

     Mrs. Leigh was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Leigh; four brothers, John T. Smith, Tybea Smith, Lanford Smith, and Alvin Smith; and four sisters, Inez Benton, Sybil Thompson, Beth Barbour, and Sara Wood.

     Private memorial services are planned.
