Windell Floyd, Jr.: Loris

1961 – 2020

     Windell Floyd, Jr. of Loris passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 16, following an illness. He was 59.

     Born April 7, 1961 in Loris, he was the son of Betty Hewitt Floyd Munce and the late Wendell “Billy” Floyd, Sr.

     Mr. Floyd retired as the manager of distribution for Molson Coors Brewing Co., was of the Baptist faith, and was a loving friend to all who knew him.

     Survivors in addition to his mother, of Loris, include his son Graham Cole Floyd of North Myrtle Beach; grandson Hudson Floyd; sister Regina Holmes and husband, Sammy of Loris; aunts Juanice Floyd Fowler of Tabor City, Ruby Cox-Mureddu and husband Sam of Loris, Jacqueline Floyd Baker Reeves of Whiteville, Patricia Lewis of Loris, Judy Prince and husband, Eddie of Tabor City, Dorothy Little and husband, Ronald of Florence, and Joyce Brown of Loris; nephew, Christopher Wayne Holmes and wife Ashleigh; and two nieces, Courtney Blair Holmes Suggs and husband Edward, and Brittney Ann Holmes Flowers and husband Mitchell.

     Mr. Floyd was predeceased by one brother, Gary Wayne Floyd; uncles Ronald Baker, Ronald Reeves, Rev. Glen Fowler, Wilbur Cox, Clyde Lewis, Bobby Brown, Donald Hewitt, and Leonard Cox; and his aunt Lois Cox.

     Family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Dr. Stephen Dale Grubb for his compassionate and loving care through the years.

     Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 19, at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols with Pastor Mack Hutson officiating.
