Patty Sue Stevens: Tabor City

1957 – 2020

     Patty Sue Stevens of Tabor City died Wednesday, June 24, in her home. She was 63.

     Born Jan. 25, 1957 in Horry County, she was the daughter of Verlyn Ruth Prince Stevens of Loris and the late Elton Cleo Stevens.

     In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Tina Michelle Chestnutt and her husband Jason of Nakina and Thersea Gail Spivey of Tabor City; one brother, Joey Stevens and his wife Tonya of Tabor City; two sisters, Cynthia Nelson and Judy Stanley and her husband Mike, all of Tabor City; and four grandchildren, Alex, Hailey, Cole and Jax.

     Ms. Stevens was a member of Princeville Missionary Baptist Church in Loris. She was a very diligent worker. She worked at Whiteville Apparel sewing plant for 17 years until they closed and then started at IGA where she worked for more than 20 years. She was a fierce mother who loved her daughters. She had a big heart, always putting others first and loved her family dearly.

     A graveside service was planned for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27, in Stevens Cemetery, visitation to follow in the cemetery.

     Due to the COVID-19 pandemic social distancing will be observed and the family asks that all who attend wear a mask.
