Ruth Harrelson Gause: Loris
1926 – 2020
Ruth Harrelson Gause of Loris died Wednesday, July 8, from a long-term, extended illness in her home with her family by her side. She was 94.
Born May 30, 1926 in Horry County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Emma Floyd Harrelson and the widow of Shirley Dayton Gause.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Dale Gause and his wife Marlene of Columbia and Dennis Gause and his wife Sarah of Loris; five daughters, Donna Todd and her husband Winston, Sandra Hardee and her husband Sammy, Paula Soles, and Sharon Hooks, all of Loris, and Sylvia Dorman and her husband Legrande of Conway; eleven grandchildren, Jeffery Todd (Wendy), Jay Soles (Layla) and Natalie Huff (Rob) of Loris, Nichole Hembree (Jeff) and Chad Hardee (Jean Marie) of Conway, Jamie Hooks (Vanessa) of Little River; Kim Soles Ward (Mitchell) of Whiteville, Amanda Jewell of New Bern, Wanda Wagner (Steph) of Columbia, Rhonda Richardson (Wyman) Arkansas, and Ginger Dorman Peloquin (Shane) of Tennessee; and eighteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Harrelson; and a sister, Jewel Harrelson Willis.
Private services were planned due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
