Margaret Elizabeth Hunt Strickland: Tabor City

1943 – 2020

     Margaret Elizabeth “Lib” Hunt Strickland of Tabor City died Friday, July 10, in her home. She was 76.

     Born July 26, 1943 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Hunt and Mary Anderson Hunt Hinson and the widow of Mitchell Kent Strickland, Sr.

     She is survived by one son, Mitchell Kent Strickland, Jr. of Tabor City; a daughter, Julie M. Strickland of Whiteville; one sister, Elaine H. Watters of Clarendon; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a special friend.

     In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her step father, Lloyd F. Hinson; and two brothers, Ben Hunt and Ronald Hinson.

     Funeral services were planned due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Center, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC 28472.
