Lilly Marie Soles Spivey: Chadbourn

1965 – 2020

     Lilly Marie Soles Spivey of Chadbourn passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 5, , at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center in Whiteville following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 55.

     Marie was born on July 18, 1965 in Columbus County to the late Bobby Franklin and Wanda Kay Hammonds Soles.

     Marie was a hardworking lady. Throughout her life, she worked at various places, including manager of Cato Fashion Store in Whiteville for eight years, National Spinning for four years, and most recently, Atlantic Publishing for two years. She thoroughly enjoyed fishing, singing, and sharing hugs with others.

     Marie attended Emerson Original Free Will Baptist Church.

     She is survived by her husband, Randy Daryl Spivey of the home; children Aaron F. Soles, of Florida, Allen Britt, Wrightney Britt, and Ashley Sellers (Alan), of Whiteville, and Derek Spivey (April), of Tabor City; grandchildren Mia Grace Soles, Landon Lloyd, Grayson Clark, Weston Britt, Trenton Britt, Marissa Spivey, and Peyton Sellers; siblings Linda Soles Strickland of Chadbourn, Lucy Ann Singletary and Bobby Matthew Soles of Whiteville; a very special friend and “sister” for 50 years Rose Strickland of Chadbourn.

     A memorial service was held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at Worthington Funeral Home, Chadbourn.
