Clara Pearl Norris Hinson: Chadbourn

1943 – 2020

     Clara Pearl Norris Hinson of the Beaverdam Community, Chadbourn, died Wednesday Nov. 11 in Shoreland Health Care Center, Whiteville. She was 77.

     Born June 17, 1943 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Ezra “Ted” Norris and Rachel Mattie Graves Norris.

     She is survived by her husband, Oscar Odell Hinson of Chadbourn; two sons, Alvie Dale Hinson (Melinda) of Chadbourn and Kevin Allen Hinson (Linda) of Tabor City; four brothers, Bobby Norris of Chadbourn, LaRue Norris of Whiteville, Chester Norris of Kernersville, and Ronnie Norris (Tammy) of Whiteville; six sisters, Nancy Carol N. Day of Whiteville, Cleo N. Skipper of Whiteville, Cloteal N. Obermeyer (Fred) of Apache Junction, Arizona, Rachel Ann N. Buffkin (Ronnie) of Green Sea, Sara N. Benton (Mark) of Hallsboro, and Eunice N. Harrelson-Williams (Johnny) of Tabor City; three grandchildren, Dawn H. Hinshaw (Bayne), Isaac Hinson and Jacob Hinson; three step grandchildren, Michael Jeremy Clemons, Brian Elbert Clemons and Melissa Lynn Clemons; one great grandchild, Beau Hinshaw; several nieces and nephews; and one great grandson expected in April.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Ray Hinson; and a brother, Bernard Norris.

     A graveside service was planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, in Hinson Cemetery. Family planned to receive friends following the service in the cemetery.
