Jackie Wayne “Jack” Miller: Tabor City

1936 – 2021

     Jackie Wayne “Jack” Miller of Tabor City died Friday, Feb. 26, in Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center, Whiteville. He was 84.

     Born March 14, 1936 in Harlam County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late: Glen and Cleo Heatherly Miller.

     Mr. Jack was the voice of Tabor City for many years at WTAB Radio 1370 AM.

     He is survived by his wife, Bonnie A. Miller of the home; six sons, Larry Miller (Angie) of Cerro Gordo, Benny Miller (Tina) of Jameston, Richard Miller of Tabor City, Joel Miller of Kentucky, Eric Sellers (Julie) of Clarendon, and Tommy Miller of Florida; a daughter, Sandy Evancho (Mark) of Fuquay-Varina; a brother, Glen Edward Miller (Sheryl) of Cincinnati, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren, Patrick Evancho, Zachary Evancho; Emily Evancho, Will Sellers, Brittney Sellers, Kaitlyn Small, Ashley Miller, Jackson Miller, Holly Miller, Jaylen Miller, Jolayna Miller, Jessica Miller, Laura Scott, Jacob Miller and Shelby Miller; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Miller and Leslie Pilcher; a niece, Kimberly Miller; three nephews, Zack Miller, Kurt Miller and Michael Miller.

     Graveside services were planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, in Old Zion Cemetery.

     Family planned to receive friends following the service in the cemetery.

     Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, face mask and social distance are required for the service.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC 28472 or to the Gideon’s International for Columbus County, P.O. Box 152, Whiteville, NC 28472.
