Burning off a field at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Tabor City plumes of smoke across US 701 Thursday morning that slowed traffic for a time. An engine from the Tabor City Fire Department was on hand, its crew monitoring the “controlled burn.” – (Deuce Niven, TLT)
