A communications fiber line has been cut, isolating the county’s 911 center and possibly other county offices.
All 911 calls have been routed to a neighboring county, with 911 services and dispatching uninterrupted, Columbus County Staff Attorney and Deputy Clerk Amanda Prince said in a news release just before 2 p.m.
“If you are having difficulties reaching other county departments, please remain patient,” Prince said.
