Columbus County Parks and Recreation will host its final community meeting as part of its Parks and Recreation System Master Plan process no Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m., on the third floor at 127 West Webster Street in Whiteville. The meeting presentation will begin at 6:45 p.m. and will be livestreamed and an on-line survey will be live the night of the meeting. Visit columbusco.org for the livestream and survey links.

Parks and Recreation leaders are seeking “community guidance with a goal of better understanding of the communities’ current recreation needs and a proactive plan for the future,” an agency news release last fall said. “A Parks and Recreation Master Plan will evaluate anticipated growth (industrial and residential), analyze current and projected recreational trends and provide a future outline with long-range goals and objectives for all recreation activities.

“Recreation staff encourage community members to stop by one of the meeting sites and share your thoughts and ideas.”
