Merry Christmas

Christmas is upon us, the formal celebration on Thursday, while folks in the Tabor-Loris Community have had countless opportunities to get in the spirit in recent days. Santa and Mrs. Claus rode into town with his sleigh atop Tabor City Fire Department’s Christmas Parade Under the Lights on Dec. 4, and holiday activities have continued nearly non-stop since, and a couple of days earlier during the Tree Lighting in Loris, its Dec. 5 parade called because of rain. Other events have included the tree lighting that followed Tabor City’s parade, again hosted by the Greater Tabor City Chamber of Commerce; a chamber sponsored Cookie Crawl that is growing in popularity and the chamber’s business and residential decorating contest; Tabor City’s 12 Days of Christmas ice skating on the synthetic rink outside of the Garrell Depot; the newly re-located caboose outside the Garrell Depot with new and improved holiday decorations; and Breakfast with Santa at Tabor City Baptist Church.
