A boil water advisory has been issued for Columbus County Water and Sewer District V water customers in an area east of Tabor City, a Jan. 30 news release from the county’s Public Utilities department.
Customers from 8699 Swamp Fox Highway East to 9719 Swamp Fox Highway East, and Clemmons Drive are impacted by the advisory, caused by repairs to a water line break.
Because of those repairs “the flow of water will be reversed throughout the system and customers may experience water quality issues such as discolored water,” the news release said. “Customers that experience problems with discolored water will need to contact the afterhours telephone number, 910-770-2158, to report concerns.
Staff will be monitoring any other potential issues, and “the system should be clear within the next 24 hours,” the news release said. “It is recommended that water used for consumption should be boiled during the next 24 hours.”
A similar advisory was issued later on Jan. 30 impacting customers in District II from 373 Love Mill Road to 685 Love Mill Road and Ranch Valley Road near Whiteville.
