Perhaps retirement won’t be taxing

Tommy Spivey (left) was recognized by Columbus County Commissioners on Tuesday on his retirement from the county’s Tax Department after 26 years of service. Spivey joined the department on Jan. 1, 1986, and retired effective last Friday. Commissioner’s chairman Amon McKenzie presented a plaque.
