Bog-Off ’12 peaks Saturday

By JOYCE GRAHAM

If it’s all over but the shouting, shouting time is here for the 33rd annual Great Loris Bog-Off Festival.
Already the Tuesday night spaghetti and Bingo night is in the history books, with a good crowd enjoying good food and games at The Center for Health & Fitness.
Movie Night in the Park is history too, held on Thursday.

Big day
Thousands are expected for the festival’s big day, Saturday, and leaders from the sponsoring Loris Chamber of Commerce are looking hopefully at forecasts earlier this week calling for partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-70s.
More than 200 arts, crafts, retail and food venders will be there to welcome everyone when the events open at 9 a.m. A full day of fun, excitement, contest and eating can be had at the 33rd Bog Off Festival.
There will be so many attractions from car and tractor shows, the Kid’s Area with inflatables and camel and pony rides, entertainment on the Main Stage and the 701 stage, and an evening is full of county music fun.
Jeffrey Allen Edwards will go on stage at 6 p.m. and play until the fireworks show at 8:30 p.m. Then Parmalee will end the day with their free southern rock concert sponsored by HTC.
Full details can be found in the special section that is part of the Oct. 17 Tabor-Loris Tribune print edition.
