Automotive eye candy

John Sloper’s 2011 Shelby Cobra Mustang took Best in Show honors during the inaugural Greater Tabor City Chamber of Commerce sponsored car show, held downtown last Saturday.
Space issues kept us from sharing all of these images in the Tabor-Loris Tribune print edition this week. The show was a feast for the eyes on a pleasant Saturday in Tabor City.
There were 30 entries, with best in show and runner-up Roger Evans’ 1951 Ford Victoria taking cash awards. Other winners were: Classic Muscle Car, Cephas Piver, 1969 Chevy Camaro; Roadster, Bob Mitchell, 1979 Excalibur Series 3; Classic Truck, Eddie Prince, 1966 Chevy; Hot Rod Wagon, John Mooney, 1957 Nomad; Best Classic, Jim Bigelow, 1957 Ford Fairlane Convertible; Import, Ron Mandigo, 1970 VW Sportsmobile; Best in Class, Leroy Boyd, 1963 Chevy Impala; Paint Scheme, Ed Burke, 1955 Ford Convertible; Best Youth, Willie Brown, 1984 Chevy C-10 Truck; Best Female, Shirley Gimbel, 2009 Mustang Convertible; Best Hot Rod, Eddie Pierce, 1955 Chevy; Chamber Award, Jimmy Brice, 1957 Ford Fairlane 500.
