Twins and alleged accomplices in the Christmas day murder of a Tabor City area man were arrested Friday, Capt. David Nobles of the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office said.
Napoleon Richard Cooper, 32, was arrested at his Grace Street home in Tabor City, Nobles said. Ricky Lapoleon Cooper was picked up by police in Horry County, Nobles said. After waiving extradition proceedings, Lapoleon returned to Columbus County later in the day.
Both were charged with murder, kidnapping, and conspiracy to commit robbery in the Christmas day murder of Antonio Segovia, 51.
Segovia was shot dead on the front steps of his John Coleman Road home just before 12:30 a.m., investigators said earlier.
Richard Dale English, 42 of 4200 Green Sea Road, Green Sea, was also charged in Segovia’s death. English allegedly shot Segovia as he and his accomplices attempted to kidnap Amy Jane Wilson, 35. Wilson was the former girlfriend of English, and was living with Segovia.
Wilson was able to escape just minutes after she was taken by force after Segovia was shot, Nobles said.
All three men were held at the Columbus County Detention Center in Whiteville without bond Friday night.
