Empie Mitchell Watts: Hallsboro
Empie Mitchell Watts, 63 of Hallsboro died Sunday, Jan. 13, at his residence. He was 63.
He was the son of the late Everette B. Watts and Marjorie McKeithan. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and attended Hallsboro Baptist Church. He also served as a police officer for 10 years, including for a time in Tabor City. ?
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Pierce Watts of Hallsboro; daughter Laura Dawn Watts of Hallsboro; son Robert Everette Watts of Hallsboro; brothers Everette Timmothy Watts and Mark Wayne Watts , both of Loris; several nieces and nephews; and other special children that were close to him.
Visitation was planned from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at McKenzie Mortuary in Whiteville.
Funeral services was planned for 3 p.m. today (Wednesday, Jan. 16) at McKenzie Mortuary Chapel in Whiteville, with Chaplain Whitney Russell officiating. Burial was to follow in Pierce Cemetary.
