Carleen Mincey Sarvis: Loris

Carleen Mincey Sarvis of Loris passed away Sunday, April 28 at Carolinas Hospital System in Florence following an illness. She was 89.
Born on February 16, 1924 in Loris, she was the daughter of Mr. Fletcher Marion Mincey and Mrs. Mary Frances Norris Mincey.
Mrs. Sarvis was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith but will be most remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Survivors include her four daughters, Bernice Stevens and husband, James of Swansea, SC, Elouise Hulon of Chadbourn, Alene Cotton and husband, Bobby of Goldsboro, and Patsy Vaught and husband, Woody of Longs; one son, James Sarvis of Columbia; two brothers, Donnie Mincey and wife, “Pat” of Loris, and F. M. Mincey of North Charleston; two sisters, Rosie Barnhill and Eula Livingston both of Loris; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many loving family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sarvis was predeceased by her husband, Leroy Sarvis, one infant daughter, two grandsons, four brothers, Bill Mincey, Fletcher Clifton Mincey, Sr., C. D. Mincey, and Homer Mincey and two sisters, Gladys Hewitt and Myrtle Blanton.
Family members planned to receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, at Hardwick Funeral Home in Loris.
Funeral services planned for 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Blanton and Rev. Terry Wilder officiating. Committal services was to follow at Cane Branch Cemetery.
