‘A day of remembrance’

     Military veterans were the focus of Memorial Day observances held in the Tabor-Loris Community this weekend – on Saturday at Twin City Memorial Gardens near Loris, and here, on Sunday, at Tabor City’s military memorial.
     VFW Post 6064 Commander Michael Chestnut (seated) used the occasion to pay tribute to those who have served and who have fallen, and announced that his service as Commander would end soon due to health issues. American Legion Commander David Corbett (standing) led the Tabor City ceremony.
