Loris area murder under investigation

    A deadly shooting discovered near Loris on Sunday is being treated as a homicide, Sgt. Robert Kegler of the Horry County Police Department said Monday.
    Ronald S. Hardee, 53, died at his home on U.S. 701 South of Loris, Deputy Horry County Coroner Tony Hendrick said Monday.
    Officers responding to a “subject not breathing” call on U.S. 701 South of Loris about 2 p.m. Sunday found Hardee dead from an apparent gunshot wound, Kegler said.
    Hardee was shot once, Hendrick said. He said he could not be more specific.

    Detectives with HCPD’s Major Crimes Section are handling the investigation.
